A strong business sector in Twente is the engine of the regional economy. Companies provide income and job security for our residents. The business community in Twente focuses on innovation, digitalisation, and the urgent need for sustainability. This is essential for addressing the challenges we face as a society.
The world of tomorrow brings many societal challenges, such as the energy transition, ensuring accessible, affordable, and well-staffed healthcare, and the shift towards a sustainable and circular economy. This requires new technologies and innovations. Therefore, we encourage innovative solutions, entrepreneurship in (technical) innovations, and the application of knowledge and new technologies.
Continuous investment in innovative capacity is not possible without talent. Having sufficient and qualified personnel is a key prerequisite. Therefore, we focus on increasing enrolment in technical education and professions, lifelong learning, attracting and retaining (international) talent, and maximising the potential of all available talent.
