House of Logistics Twente
The Twente Logistics House unites efforts in a public-private partnership to develop a dynamic regional labour market for the logistics sector in Twente.
House of Logistics
Due to economic, social, and technological developments, the labour market is changing rapidly. Responding quickly and strategically to these changes is essential to keep our Twente labour market dynamic. This includes intensifying the support provided to job seekers. To meet this need, entrepreneurs, government, and educational institutions, through the Twente House of Logistics, have joined forces to guide job seekers under the motto ‘from job profile to skills profile.’
Raising the Profile of Logistics through Collaborative Efforts
“Encouraging people to step into the world of logistics,” as Ben Gerrits, who leads the House of Logistics, puts it. While the labour market is tight — including in logistics — this is not the only reason that companies, educational institutions, and government are collaborating in this area. “We want people to have an accurate picture of what working in logistics entails,” explains Gerrits.
To achieve this, the Twente House of Logistics has launched and continues to run various initiatives, such as a campaign to engage people and increase visibility on social media. “People can register and receive guidance from a digital coach,” says Gerrits. “They receive personalised information on events or job vacancies that match their profile. We also provide referrals — for instance, to the Twente Skills Fund, where interested candidates can receive a training voucher of up to 2,500 euros to train or retrain for a job in logistics.”
