Twente Board Development focuses on developing a platform to attract and retain talent, reduce brain drain, and double the number of internationals working in the region. To ensure that talent stays in Twente — and new talent is drawn here — the Job and Company Portal was created. This platform offers visitors a curated experience of Twente: everything there is to know about the region, its companies, housing, and leisure activities, all in one place.
All Information on Living, Working, and Life in Twente Under One Roof
According to former project leader Kathy van Eijkelenburg, consolidating information in one place was essential: in 2019, many initiatives were focusing on the same theme — retaining talent for the region. “HBO and UT students could hardly name companies in Twente,” she explains. “Figures were better among ROC and Saxion students, but overall, it wasn’t surprising that students left Enschede after their studies. We had to address the information flow, as even if all current students chose to stay in Twente for work, we’d still face a shortage in five years.”
Twente Board initiated the talent and company portal to meet this need. “We want every student to know Twente and its companies. We focus on MBO3 students and higher, from their third year up to about age 35, ensuring information availability is never a barrier.”
Through the platform, companies can search for suitable employees, including graduates, students seeking part-time jobs, internship candidates, and those interested in traineeships.
