Development of IT talent in Twente

TalentIT Twente

TalentIT Twente addresses the tight labour market, specifically in IT-related sectors. The project’s goal is to increase the availability of ICT personnel in Twente by providing an integrated learning and working environment within local companies and organisations. By offering students part-time positions during their studies, they gain firsthand experience of the exciting opportunities within regional IT companies and organisations with IT departments, helping to retain talented individuals within the region.

IT Students Connect with Twente’s Business Community During Their Studies

TalentIT Twente is a foundation dedicated to retaining talent in Twente. “Through internships, graduation projects, and part-time jobs, we aim to help students build connections with Twente-based companies in the IT sector during their studies,” explains project leader Annemarijn Quittner. “We started a few years ago, and it’s working. We began with 17 partners, and now we have over fifty.”

Danny Nijland, founder and owner of Owlfy, an HRM Software startup in Enschede, has taken on Gijs Wassink (Saxion, software engineering) through TalentIT to work on their new HR platform. Nijland is one of the many employers actively seeking talent and competing with numerous other IT companies for qualified candidates. “It’s great that, through TalentIT, we have an additional channel for recruitment. This can involve hiring students for part-time jobs, internships, or graduation projects. We need many software developers and can reach out to this organisation to find them. A fantastic initiative.”
