The pressure on the healthcare system in Twente is increasing due to an aging population, staff shortages, and the rise in chronic conditions. Digital healthcare innovations can help organize care closer to home, strengthen prevention, and give residents more control over their own care. But developing and testing these innovations requires secure, standardized access to healthcare data. This is precisely where ZorgDataPunt is making a difference.
ZorgDataPunt (Healthcare Data Hub) is developing an open and scalable IT infrastructure for the secondary use of healthcare data: not for treatment, but for research, education, innovation, and practical testing environments. This creates a regional testing ground where companies, healthcare organizations, researchers, and educational institutions can collaborate more quickly and securely on data-driven healthcare innovation.
The possibilities offered by ZorgDataPunt
- Accelerating the development and validation of digital applications such as sensors, algorithms, and e-health solutions.
- A solid legal, privacy, and governance framework for working securely with healthcare data.
- Regional collaboration between healthcare institutions, knowledge partners, companies, and residents.

- post-operative recovery in the elderly
- heart failure monitoring and smart decision support
- education and training of healthcare professionals
