Twente Microchip Talent Strengthening Plan

Through the Twente Microchip Talent Strengthening Plan, the region is addressing the national challenge of training sufficient technical talent for the microchip sector (Beethoven). Twente Board plays a coordinating role in this effort, bringing together education, the business community, and government in a single, collaborative approach.

By investing in the recruitment, progression, and retention of talent, from vocational education (MBO) to higher education (WO) and through lifelong learning, we are building a future-proof talent pipeline. In doing so, we are strengthening the region’s innovative capacity and positioning Twente as a leading player in the Dutch chip sector.

Fieke Fixes It: Introducing children to technology and engineering

Fieke Fixing It (Fieke fikst ’t) is an inspiring initiative that helps children discover at a young age just how fun and creative technology can be. The initiative stems from the “Instroom Technologie” program, in which the education sector, the business community, and the government in Twente collaborate to spark an early and sustained enthusiasm for engineering and technology among children and young people. With Fieke as a relatable role model, curiosity, problem-solving skills, and the joy of creating are sparked in a playful way.
