Charell Jansen
Charell Jansen (25) was born and raised in Twente. The down-to-earth attitude, the strong sense of community, and the drive to move forward together make her feel deeply connected to the region.
In her daily life, Charell is a Ph.D. candidate at Medisch Spectrum Twente and the University of Twente. Her research focuses on the use of digital technologies to improve drug therapy for patients with heart failure. It is precisely at the intersection of science, technology, and healthcare practice that she sees opportunities to make a social impact.
Charell has been a member of the Young Twente Board since October 2025. There, she is committed to addressing issues such as digitization, innovation in healthcare, and retaining and developing talent in the region. In her view, Twente has everything it needs to play a pioneering role: strong research institutions, innovative companies, and people who know how to come together when it matters most.
Charell believes that today’s major societal challenges require collaboration between science, entrepreneurs, education, and government. By connecting these worlds, she aims to contribute to a future-proof Twente where innovation is not only conceived but also actually put into practice.
Perhaps a quote could be included, similar to the one for the TB members: “Development begins where people, knowledge, and innovation come together.”
