Maurits Olde Olthof
I'm Maurits Olde Olthof. I live in Almelo and work as head producer at Say Yeah Motion Media in Enschede. After completing my master's in Film and Television Cultures at Utrecht University, I moved into video production. At Say Yeah, we make films for government bodies, civil society organisations and businesses in the region, such as the Province of Overijssel, Waterschap Vechtstromen, Grolsch, Demcon and many others. Alongside production, I focus on new clients, our network and the direction of the company, a role I intend to develop further in the coming years.
The project I'm most proud of is the first Dutch AI cinema film, which we made for Enschede's 700th anniversary. More than 1,800 young people from over 40 school classes contributed to a 27 minute film. The project showed how much creativity young people in Twente have when you give them space and resources.
I'm proud of Twente. Through my work, I get to see the inside of many organisations and companies, and I see how much quality and craftsmanship there is here. That is why I also want to contribute to the region outside my work. On the Young Twente Board, I want to represent the voice of young people on topics such as culture, talent and entrepreneurship, or any other issue that matters to them. Young people will shape the future of Twente, yet they are still too rarely heard when decisions about it are made. I want to help bring their ideas to the table with policymakers and employers, and to show what is already happening in this region.
I'm always happy to talk about this. Feel free to send me a message if there's anything I can do for you.
