Niels Willemen

I’m Niels (29), born in Amsterdam, but raised in beautiful Twente from the age of four, so I consider myself a true “Tukker”. Currently I work as a projectmanager at Demcon Life Science and Health.

For me, Twente is the perfect mix of down-to-earth pragmatism and innovation, or in other words: less talk, more action. Here, ideas aren’t polished endlessly, but they’re put into practice, together with local companies, in a region full of green spaces and nature that gives room to think and to build.

Since 2 years, I’ve been part of the Young Twente Board, where I work with a diverse group of young people, each with their own perspective, on an even better Twente. I’m energized by talent retention and innovation: themes that are inseparable and essential to a future-proof Twente.
