Ufuk Serik

My name is Ufuk Serik. I was born and raised in beautiful Oldenzaal. I am 32 years old and, after moving around to various places in the West, I have been living in Twente again for a year now.

I currently work for the municipality of Twenterand as an environmental law advisor. Before that, I worked in education and gained experience in youth politics and employee participation. I trained as a social studies teacher and last year completed a Master’s degree in Politics and Parliament at Radboud University in Nijmegen. During my studies, I lived first in Haarlem and later in Nijmegen. After graduating, I returned to Twente. In my free time, I enjoy road cycling and hanging out with friends.

I’ve been active with the Young Twente Board since September because I strongly identify with its mission to effectively organize youth participation. I’m also convinced that we can reach a broader audience by setting specific goals. Additionally, I want to play an active role in incorporating education and policy into the board’s objectives and activities. In short, I want to actively contribute to this effort based on my background and work experience.

I look forward to further expanding my knowledge and experience through this role with Young Twente Board.
