The strength of the Twente network lies in its complementary nature. Together, the six sites form a single regional network in which each site represents a distinct link in the semiconductor value chain: from design and development to production, assembly, testing and maintenance.
At the University of Twente, the emphasis is on advanced chip technology, including an educational cleanroom and courses in chip design, chip processing and characterisation.
Saxion focuses on advanced technology for chip testing and packaging, with practice-oriented field labs where education, research and industry collaborate on current issues facing the chip industry.
ROC van Twente focuses on hybrid learning environments, cleanroom training, Smart Technology & AI, and modular semiconductor courses that are directly relevant to industry practice.
The vocational colleges SMEOT, REMO, STODT and Process Your Future contribute specialist expertise and close collaboration with industry, enabling students to gain experience within Twente’s high-tech manufacturing sector whilst still studying.
